Update on the Bob Leefman Appeal

Dear RMA PT Branch Colleagues,

Just a short note to say how very grateful Terry Harrison and myself are with your very kind generosity and support for the recent Bob Leefmans appeal. As you know, Bob now suffers hugely from arthritis in all of his joints and this appeal will help to modify his kitchen so that he can get around easier and make a cup of tea without intense pain!

We have had many generous (and anonymous) donations from our RMA PT Branch members, but a very special thank you to the new AIPTRM WO1 Glyn (‘Lukey’) Luke RM and the serving PT Staff at CTCRM for all contributing over £300 to the cause – true PT Branch spirit!

We are so pleased to have finally achieved a final sum of £6,270 for this cause and in less than 5 weeks! The fund will now be closed and we are arranging for the work to be done soonest and hope to keep you posted on progress. Terry has posted:

“Truly amazing!  In just 5 weeks we have raised £6,270! Thank you all so much for your donations - they mean an awful lot! I have seen the lovely comments some of you have left for Bob.  I am sure he will be deeply moved by them all!

As we have now exceeded our target, it is anticipated that work on his home will start shortly.  We will of course keep you updated on progress. Once again, thank you all so much for giving Bob the opportunity to live a more fulfilling life around his home”.

Terry Harrison MBE, JP

Additionally, former PTI Chris Butler has very kindly volunteered to become the RMA Welfare Liaison Office for Bob, to see if any further funding may be possible for future needs, which is terrific. Thank you Chris!

Thank you all so much for your kind support,

Peter Brown MBE MSc.

Hon Chairman RMA PT Branch
