Disney RM to carry Rowing Machine up Mont Blanc

Climbing Mont Blanc… with a Rowing Machine

On Friday 30th August, Disney RM will attempt a world first. He is aiming to carry a 26KG, 2.5M long unbalanced Concept 2 rowing machine up Western Europe’s highest mountain, Mont Blanc – raising funds for Rock 2 Recovery and RMA – The Royal Marines Charity.

Royal Marine Veteran Matthew Paul Disney, is an elite fitness enthusiast and global adventurer, often described by those that know him as a "A highly enthusiastic character that pushes the limits of life and adventure", "Ready for any challenge" and "One of those people that make you feel sane".

Mont Blanc is a mountain that holds many dangers. Disney RM will experience Altitude Sickness and face severe threats from Avalanches, Crevasses and Rock Falls.

Earlier this summer, Disney completed the challenge of a lifetime as he successfully climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon and covered the distance in-between, all with a Concept2 Rowing Machine on his back. View some of the highlights from fourth challenge here.

To follow Disney’s preparations and journey to the summit of Mont Blanc, follow his Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram accounts.
