The sad passing of former WO2 (S) Gordon ‘Korky’ Carder.

Korky joined the Corps at RM Deal in May 1974 and he retired having completed 22 years’ service in May 1996.  He served in 45 CDO, HQ & Sigs Sqn, the assault ships HMS Intrepid and HMS Fearless, CTCRM, and DRORM.

Korky has been a stalwart member of RMA RFC since its inception in 1996 and has attended every fixture and Gibraltar Tour to date.

Korky met his wife Sophie in Portsmouth in 1978, they have been married for 42 years.  He also leaves a daughter Emily, son James and four grandchildren.

His funeral will take place on Monday 12th October at 1430hrs.

WO2 Korky Carder will be sorely missed, not just by his family, but also by all of his close friends who held him in such high esteem.
