This year’s reunion at the CTCRM was a huge success with the weather holding fair for the whole weekend, even the Inter Branch Quiz competition was held outside in the Sylvan Glade. We were privileged to be entertained by the King’s Squad on the Saturday night. They produced a fantastic drill display, after only one and a half days practice, to music from Star Wars. The Band was its normal brilliant self, this time led by Major John Kelly and over 800 of us were thrilled by their musicality and sense of fun. We are very grateful to them all and we send a huge thank you to CTCRM for its continued support to the RMA.
Congratulations must go to:
On Sunday over 1300 members and their guests attended the service led by
our Chairman, Maj Paddy Dunn, and the Reverend Wynne Jones. We were inspected
by many senior officers and warrant officers from the serving Corps and were
delighted to have both the King’s Squad and the most junior Recruit Troop
on parade with us. We still managed to put nearly 500 on parade - a great
effort from the RMA. We were most honoured to have Maj-Gen Sir Jeremy Moore
KCB OBE MC as our reviewing officer. One of the few to be decorated from
the three campaigns that we especially commemorated (Malaya, Aden and the
Falkland Islands) he was the ideal choice and hugely popular. It was with
great sadness that he died suddenly a week later and it was wonderful to
see the brilliant turn out from members for his funeral.
