| Comments: | HAVING JUST RETURNED FROM THE MEMORIAL SERVICE MAY IJUST REITERATE WHAT WAS WRITTEN BY AND OLD COLLEAGUE OF MINE RAY ANDREWS.THE SERVICE BOUGHT GROWN MEN TO TEARS MYSELF INCLUDED. THE ORGANIZATION WAS OUTSTANDING AND I REGRET LEAVING IT SO LONG TO JOIN FRIENDS ARE VERY PRECIOUS AND WE SHOULD STAY IN CONTACT BE IT ONCE A YEAR.TO THE FAMILIES THAT ATTENDED ON BEHALF OF THE LOVED ONES THAT THEY HAVE LOST WE SALUTE YOU.IF ANYBODY IS THINKING OF JOINING DO SO NOW YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT I AM STILL REJOCING IN THE REUNION WITH SO MANY OLD FRIENDS.BEEING A ROYAL MARINE GIVES YOU THE PRIVELIGE TO BE PART OF THIS AMAZING ORGANIZATION A PRIVELIGE WHICH YOU HAVE EARNT. | Comments: | The unveiling of the memorial wall at CTCRM 27 September 2009 - I / “We will remember them” A bright sunny morning on my first return after 37 years, on parade looking at “THE ROCK” a striking creation made of granite, my eyes gradually welling up although I and many others were fortunate to reflect in such a peaceful, tranquil family setting. In our green RMA handout page 3 The Bidding Prayer, last line reads Royal Marines memorial Wall in this special place. Amen. Most poignant moment, seeing the families and loved ones crossing the parade ground with serving marines, the couple of pushchairs and a pregnant lady finally brought it all home. |
