| Comments: | A relative of mine served with the royal Marines between 1939 - 194,laterley in Burma and Singapore He passed away recently but we have inherited his war medals,photos and service papers and other memorabilia including a genuine rising sun flag which we believe was taken from a Japanese prisoner of war camp,complete with manilla paper with japanese writing on it.We have photographs of the Japanese surrender with Lord Mountbatten. My relatives name was George Leslie Jones Ex5432 Mne and letters state he served with Col. C.M. Seargent O.B.E D.S.C as his M.O.A He joined the Royal Marines Assoc as a life member on 21st Feb 1947 membership number is 365080. I would be grateful if anyone could provide any further details about him. |
