Dear Sir/Madam,

The Hospital of Sir John Hawkins is the oldest organisation in the country for the support of naval people and their families. It was founded in 1594 by a Royal Charter granted by Queen Elizabeth I. Today the Grade II listed Almshouses consist of eight self contained flats that surround a courtyard between Chatham High Street and the River Medway. The Hospital is administered by a Board of Governors. At the moment we have vacant: One first floor two bed roomed flat with a maintenance charge of £123.50 per month. This property is currently undergoing a major refurbishment that includes a fully fitted kitchen and flush floor shower bathroom. Work is due to finish at the end of March. I would be most grateful if you could bring this to the attention of your members. Details of qualifications for residency are in Appendix A.
Applications or enquiries should be made direct to me via the above address.

Yours sincerely,

Glen Jones
Deputy Governor.
